Kills pre-existing paralysis tick infestations within 24 hours of treatment
Persistent tick killing activity and protection for 5 weeks (35 days)
In tick season, daily searching for, and removal of, any ticks found is recommended
For the prevention of heartworm disease (Dirofilaria immitis)
Administer monthly to prevent heartworm disease
Monthly treatment must continue throughout the year without interruption
For the treatment and control of gastrointestinal worms including hookworms (A. caninum, U. stenocephala) and adult roundworms (T. canis, T. leonina), including immature stages of A. caninum (L4, L5) and T. canis (L5)
Regular monthly administration treats and controls roundworm and hookworm, including larval stages
Decreases the risk of transmission to other pets
Treatment Schedule
The product should be administered at regular monthly intervals
Treatment may begin at any time of the year
If a flea infestation already exists, fleas can continue to emerge into the environment for weeks to months - because of the continuing development of existing flea eggs, larvae and pupae already present before the time of treatment - it may take more than a single treatment to achieve acceptable flea control
Treatment should continue without interruption all year round - breaks in protection can allow for an environmental flea burden to re-establish
To minimise the likelihood of flea re-infestation, it is important to treat all dogs and cats within the household - Simparica is approved for use in dogs only - check product labels for an appropriate approved flea control for use in cats
General Directions
To be administered orally once a month
Can be given with or without food
Safe in various breeds of dog across a broad weight range, when administered according to the dosage schedule
Safe for use in puppies from 8 weeks of age and weighing over 1.3 kg
During testing, no adverse reactions were observed when used with other treatments - may be administered in conjunction with vaccines, antibiotics, and corticosteroids when used according to label directions
Well tolerated in dogs when administered with macrocyclic lactone
Well tolerated in ivermectin-sensitive Collie dogs
The safe use of Simparica has not been evaluated in breeding dogs and pregnant or lactating bitches
